Hello, again from your State Senator! Let me thank your for visiting my webiste to learn more about the issues affecting our communities.
It has been a very busy year serving as your Senator. I have attended many town council meetings, school board meetings ans civic association gatherings, getting to know the issues facing our District better and, more importantly, getting to know YOU better.
I have worked with Representatives Dave Wilson and Ruth Briggs King, attending their coffees and working together on legislation facing our districts. Further, I have attended meetings of the Chamber of Commerce and Volunteer Fire Company functions to fulfill my promise to be visible and accessible in the 19th.
I have succeeded in passing HB 159 (adding training for dementia/Alzheimer's patient providers); led the efforts at restoring the Learning Resource Center; worked with towns to ease the loss of municipal street aid; sponsored a health fair for seniors; sponsored SB 230 (e-verification for businesses and workers); sponsored SB 200 (address farmers opressive truck weight regulations); and handled countless constituent concerns.
I continue to be active in my church (Wesley Methodist), the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Bridgeville Public Library, Milton and Georgetown Historical Societies, Little League, as well as many other civic activities.
The Primary Election in this district will be held on September 14, 2010. This is a very important primary election. You will be asked to make a choice between a proven leader and effective legislator and one who can only point to promises. I hope I can count on your vote for me - The Right Choice - in the primary election on September 14.
Joe Booth
State Senator
